At St. Louis College of Pharmacy, we take a holistic approach to admission decisions and consider your entire admissions file. As an institution educating pharmacy and health care leaders of tomorrow, we look for students with a track record of success in math and science courses, but we also look for students who are well-rounded.

Applying for Freshman Admission

Academic Requirements

To be admitted to the College as a first-time freshman, you must be a high school graduate who has not attended another college or university since graduation.

The following courses are highly recommended:

  • 3 years of high school science, including biology and chemistry
  • 4 years of high school math, including algebra I & II and geometry
  • 4 years of high school English
  • Additional units in the above subjects, or other math and science courses (recommended)

Application Deadlines

It's important to meet application deadlines to ensure your application is given full consideration. All materials must be submitted by the deadlines below before your file will be reviewed.

  • December 1: Deadline for Early Action, Early Decision
  • December 1: Deadline for priority scholarship consideration
  • March 1: Deadline for Regular Decision

Application Requirements

Students applying for admission must submit a completed application and all supporting documents to receive consideration for admission. Incomplete admission files will not be reviewed.

The following items are required:

  1. Application for Admission
    You may apply online at, through the Common Application or by paper application.
  2. Application Fee
    All applicants must submit a non-refundable $55 application fee.
  3. Official High School Transcript
    Your high school transcript must include all coursework through your junior year.
  4. Official ACT or SAT Scores
  5. Admission Essay
    Applicants must submit a 500-word essay responding to the questions: Why are you interested in entering a career in pharmacy or another health care field? Describe a hardship, adversity or challenge that you overcame and what you gained from that experience. What do you hope to contribute to the College community, what legacy do you hope to leave?
  6. Recommendations for Admission
    You must submit three formal recommendations including one Character and General Academic Recommendation from your school guidance counselor, one Science Recommendation from a science teacher, preferably in chemistry or biology, and one Mathematics Recommendation from a math teacher, preferably current teacher or teacher whom you have had in the past year.
  7. Mid-Year Course Report
    Applicants must submit a mid-year report for current courses and a list of spring semester coursework.

Students applying for regular decision may be subject to a wait list depending on space availability at the time of admission review.

Apply for Early Action

Early Action provides an opportunity for highly qualified applicants to submit an abbreviated application and receive a quicker admission decision. We encourage students who have a strong academic record, especially in mathematics and science, to apply for Early Action.

Early Action applicants are not required to submit recommendations or an essay for admission review.

The deadline to apply for Early Action is December 1.

Students not admitted under Early Action or Early Decision may be deferred to Regular Decision and will be subject to application requirements for Regular Decision.

Apply for Early Decision

Students who are ready to commit to St. Louis College of Pharmacy can receive priority consideration under Early Decision.

Students applying for Early Decision must submit an Early Decision Agreement certifying their intent to enroll at the College and withdraw applications from any other institutions. 

The deadline to apply for Early Decision is December 1.

Students not admitted under Early Action or Early Decision may be deferred to Regular Decision and will be subject to application requirements for Regular Decision.

Apply for Regular Decision

Students who wish to apply for Regular Decision must submit all application requirements. Students not admitted under Early Action or Early Decision may be deferred to Regular Decision and will be subject to application requirements for Regular Decision.

The deadline to apply for regular decision is March 1.
